I have been using Body Synergy Gym for the past 15 months to
help with back and knee problems, on referral from Dunedin
physiotherapist Steve August. I had never been in a gym before.
During this time I have shed over 10kg weight and strengthened
major leg and back muscles, resulting in marked improvements in
body physique, strength and fitness. Most importantly back pain has
reduced and my knee (which an orthopedic specialist has said will
have to be replaced), has stabilised, despite meniscal tear and
cartilage issues. In particular, hamstring function has improved 4
fold along with a marked increase in upper body strength and
musculature.
These changes have also realigned my back from a stoop when
walking, to a correct upright posture, resulting in less pressure
on a bulging disc and knee joints. It has taken a degree of
determination to achieve results which have been keenly fostered by
the Body Synergy staff. The staff are dedicated and constantly
keeping an eye on clients to ensure they are doing the gym routines
correctly, and most importantly, safely. Coming from a science
background I have been impressed with the research put into the
exercise programs and the monitoring of results trough regular
fitness and postural assessments. The Body Synergy staff are
committed and very well trained under Rowan's tuition. Along with
the gym program, regular deep tissue massage by Rowan and his
trained staff has been a major contributor to successful increase
in muscular function and pain release. For me the gym has been a
way to fix physical problems now to ensure a better quality of life
later. Many of my friends and work colleagues have noticed the
major body changes that have occurred and asked how it has been
achieved through the Body Synergy programs.
